I want to make my eyes look just like this, is it possible? If so, how would it be done? I’ve attached a reference image of what I would like to achieve, and the current shape of my eyes.
Thank you sharing your question and photo. We’ve shown your question to our doctor, and the following are his comments. You seem to have thick upper eyelids, possibly from underlying fatty tissue, and you currently have a monolid (single eyelid) with thick epicanthal folds (the extra skin covering the inner eye corner). A face-to-face consultation and diagnosis is recommended, but from the photos:
An incisional double eyelid procedure with epicanthoplasty can be done to achieve a similar look of the attached reference photo. Epicanthoplasty is eye surgery to remove the epicanthal folds. The epicanthic fold is the skin fold of the upper eyelid covering the inner angle/corner of the eye. East Asian blepharoplasty, also known as “double eyelid surgery,” is a type of cosmetic surgery where the skin around the eye is reshaped (blepharoplasty). The purpose of this procedure is to create an upper eyelid with a crease (i.e. “double eyelid”) from an eyelid that is naturally without a crease (a.k.a. “single eyelid” or “monolid”). You will be able to achieve longer, wider, and aesthetically pleasing eyes with TL Plastic Surgery.
However, we have found that realistic expectations are an important factor in patient satisfaction, and we strive to provide treatments that are suitable for each patient’s unique facial characteristics. With that said, it’s great to have an aesthetic goal, but it’s not realistic if a clinic promises to make your eyes look exactly the same as the reference photo. Especially, since there are other elements such as makeup techniques, pupil color, extended eyelashes and possibly photo editing that may be coming together in that photo.
Thank you for submitting your question and photos. After reviewing your photos, it appears you may benefit from the following two treatments:
- Double eyelid surgery (Incisional method is recommended)
As for the reference photo, it’s not possible to make ones eyes appear “just like this,” but that doesn’t mean you cannot enhance the shape of your eyes. Our approach is to consider your natural appearance, listen to your goals and advise on an appropriate medical beauty treatment plan. In your case, epicanthoplasty would be required to make a parallel double eyelid crease. We recommend you to stay in Korea for at least 7 days after the surgery, so that you can get post-operative treatments including stitch removal and wound cleansing required if you decide to come to Seoul for surgery.
For your surgery, our plastic surgery specialists will do our best and our doctors speak English well, so please don’t hesitate to visit us.
You can not be as same as the reference picture, however, our doctor will try to create a similar look. For your eyes, our doctor recommends eyes ptosis correction, incisional double eyelid surgery and latetal canthoplasty.
Lateral canthoplasty creates incisions at both ends of the eyes allowing them eyes to appear bigger. This surgery can have little side effects if done by a skilled surgeon, and the skin will heal and fuse together again. Due to recent developments in technique and technology this procedure is becoming popular with patients.
The procedures will improve the appearance of small eyes and improve sagging eyes by creating a more wakeful and positive impression.
