KeymasterMany people often ask if they need a translator to help them navigate clinic consultations.
Here’s a post we wrote recently about the topic:

KeymasterThe rates for an interpreter via Medical Korea Gangnam are as follows:
2 hours : 60,000 won
4 hours ; 100,000 won
8 hours ; 200,000wonBut please note several international clinics do have interpretation staff, which hospitals are you considering?

ParticipantI still feel hesitant hiring a medical interpreter just because I would like to bring a friend. Do you know if they will haggle down the price for you or anything like that? Or is just very strict and limited to what he said she said type of thing?

KeymasterThat’s a good point. I think they will always try to convey your message, but sometimes bargaining is an art. I think it’s always OK to ask for a discount. From my experience of speaking with a lot of coordinators both on a professional and friendly basis, they tell me discounts are really at their discretion. If they like the person, they’ll give them a discount, but it also depends on the procedures as well and the doctors. Meaning it’s not a clinic policy, but sometimes comes down to individual doctors at the clinics and their policies.
